Lessons typically begin with the fundamentals of flute playing, including posture, breathing technique, embouchure (mouth position), tone production and finger coordination. Students also develop essential musicianship skills such as rhythm, intonation, sight-reading and listening skills, all of which contribute to confident and expressive playing.

As students progress in our Greystones flute lessons, they are introduced to a wide range of repertoire and styles, including Irish traditional music, classical music, and other contemporary styles such as folk, film music and modern arrangements. This flexible approach allows students to explore the genres they enjoy most while still developing a strong technical and musical foundation.
