Emily Packard

Emily recently relocated to Ireland from the US where she had a career performing and teaching violin. She holds a Masters of Music degree in violin performance from the San Francisco Conservatory where she studied classical performance with Bettina Mussumeli, and an MFA from Mills College where she studied violin with David Abel and improvisation with Fred Frith.

Trained in the Suzuki method, Emily has taught private and group lessons at Oakland School for the Arts, Mills College, Crowden School of Music and the El Sistema program Sound Minds. She enjoys working with beginner and intermediate students of all ages to set up the technical foundation they need to explore their creative musical interests.

Emily has played in many symphony orchestras including Monterey Symphony and Santa Cruz Symphony in California and the Juno Chamber Orchestra in Vermont. She is a founding member of the folk/ rock band Jack O’ The Clock and has played with numerous singer/ songwriters, modern dance and new music groups.
